A new pain-relieving TENS device, launched by ExcelHealth, recently received FDA-approval and is reported to be available to consumers without a doctor’s prescription. According to a statement from the company, the iReliev Pain Management System was developed using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) technology.

The over-the-counter device is smaller than many cell phones, is marketed with batteries, an easy carry holster clip, and electrode pads with convenient use. It also features eight preset programs, allowing users to customize their therapy and target their pain. The iReliev includes a 5- to 60-minute selectable timer, a symmetrical biphasic square pulse, and pulse amplitude of 0-80 mA peak into 500 ? load each channel.
