Clinical indicators and documentation for funding power assist wheels are the subjects for an upcoming National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) webinar, slated for March 22 at 5 pm EST. 

The NRRTS reports that the webinar will be hosted by Theresa Berner, MOT, OTR/L, ATP, Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio, and center on basic interviewing skills to understand a client’s mobility needs and provide a review of principles of wheelchair set up and wheel access. The webinar will also reportedly recommend best practices in service delivery to ensure consumer buy in and in assessing the roles of each member of a seating clinic team. 

A review of documentation principles, examples, and guidelines alongside suggestions for outside funding sources will be presented to participants, NRRTS says. Topics presented by the webinar will reportedly be supported by case studies designed to demonstrate how these techniques can be applied. 

Upon completion, the webinar aims to equip participants with a better understanding of clinical indicators and documentation for funding so patients have the best chance to obtain the equipment that will meet their needs.
