Permobil Seating and Positioning introduces the BodyLink accessories line, featuring fully adjustable head supports, lateral trunk supports, and lateral pelvic and thigh supports designed to be mounted on virtually any power and manual wheelchair.
Each product in the BodyLink line is available in a variety of pad sizes and fabric options, as well as with Glidewear, an option available on all pads that is designed to enhance one’s comfort and reduce shear forces.
“A major factor in Permobil’s decision to acquire Comfort Company last year was to add both Comfort’s existing product portfolio and expertise in hardware and accessories,” says Tom Borcherding, president of Permobil Seating and Positioning, in a media release.
“This launch of the BodiLink platform of hardware and accessories showcases the innovation for which Comfort Company is known, and raises the bar for the industry and the clients we serve in this important category of wheelchair seating and positioning products.”
Head Supports are available in seven styles with either a piano hinge, double taper joint or gear tooth joint, as well as in five Premium or Basic pad sizes and three cover options. Midline mounting or asymmetric mounting utilizes five mounting block options for both OEM power or aftermarket backrests.
Lateral Trunk Supports are designed to meet the body’s intimate shape through small, modular, spring-loaded gear-tooth joints featuring an innovative rotational wrist joint at the pad. They are available in six moldable or basic pad sizes featuring molded foam construction, as well as in three different fabric options, with or without added foam.
Lateral Pelvic and Thigh Supports are available in three sizes to accommodate a variety of cushion thicknesses. A Telescoping Taper (TT) series places the pad precisely where it is needed. In addition, an adjustable, low-force release lever provides one-handed operation for improved ADLs.
