Mobility challenged persons in New York City now have more options in their taxi choices, as Mobility Ventures LLC announces the debut of the “MV-1 Empire Taxi,” a specially designed version of its MV-1 wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
According to the company, the “MV-1 Empire Taxi” not only provides riders with more legroom and storage space than other taxi vehicles operating in New York City, it is also wheelchair-accessible.
The company notes in the release that it is offering purchase incentives, as well as a driver bonus match to existing NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) drivers, as a way to support the TLC’s goal of increasing the number of wheelchair-accessible taxi vehicles available in New York City.
“We welcome and appreciate all efforts by the private sector to support greater accessibility in New York City’s taxi fleet,” states the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission, in the release.
