St. Francis Medical Technologies Inc, San Francisco, has appointed Matthew Frushell vice president of marketing. He brings to the company more than 20 years of medical device branding and commercialization expertise, primarily in the orthopedics arena.

Most recently, Frushell was the vice president of marketing for the privately held company, Blackstone Medical Inc. There, he led the building of Blackstones branding and product pipeline to becoming a full-line spine fusion supplier.

Previously, Frushell spent 15 years with the orthopedic divisions of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in various capacities, including engineering and senior level positions in marketing and business development. While at the Zimmer and Linvatec divisions, Frushell led their global commercialization and acquisition efforts for the sports medicine, endoscopy, and powered surgical markets.

We are tremendously excited to have Matt join the St. Francis team, says Kevin Sidow, president and CEO of St. Francis. The addition of his experience and leadership is a key pieced in our continued progress toward building a world class spine company.
