Noraxon USA Inc, Scottsdale, Ariz, plans to host their annual Research Symposium November 9-10 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), according to a press release issued by the company. The 2-day seminar is intended to educate industry professionals about current studies in electromyography (EMG), gait, and kinesiological applications.

Designed to address the current progression in biomechanical and kinesiological research, the symposium will reportedly use lecture, demonstration, and hands-on experience to introduce advanced concepts, in-depth knowledge, unique executions of testing, and interesting findings in those areas. According to the release, topics will reflect the wide range and successful use of kinesiological EMG, integrated 2D video, force distribution measurement, and other kinetic and kinematic applications.

Scheduled presenters at the event include John Mercer, PhD, FACSM, and Janet Dufek, PhD, FACSM, from UNLV; David Embrey, PhD, PT, with Good Samaritan Hospital Movement Laboratory; and Gretchen Oliver, PhD, ATC, LAT, the director of the laboratory for sports medicine and movement at Auburn University, Auburn, Ala. Due to the advanced level of presentation, an understanding of biomechanics and kinesiology is highly recommend.

Attendance at the seminar is limited. To register, contact Denalee Karr at [email protected] or (480) 443-3413.
