A total of nearly 5,000 occupational therapy clinicians, educators, and students, are expected to attend the American Occupational Therapy Association’s 94th Annual Conference & Expo in Baltimore, Md. The event is scheduled to be held from April 3 to 6 at the Baltimore Convention Center.

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) notes that the conference will cover a variety of topics, including modifying homes and exploring community mobility options in order to allow older adults to age in place safely and maintain independence, regaining function after stroke, and assisting wounded warriors in regaining function, managing PTSD, and leading meaningful lives after military service.

The AOTA reports in recent news release that the conference will also feature more than 900 educational sessions designed to fit attendees’ interests and needs.  Attendees can also use a Program Planner to search the program, view sessions descriptions, and learning objectives.

The release states that many of the more than 350 vendors and 450 booths will provide attendees with interactive displays of the latest technology in rehabilitation.

The event will also offer a “Transportation Zone,” displaying specially adapted vehicles from Toyota Mobility, BruanAbility, Vantage Mobility International Inc (VMI), and General Motors Mobility. Professionals who assist both drivers and passengers with disabilities in traveling safely will staff the zone, the AOTA says. Additionally, companies from Canada, Hong Kong, Austria, Israel, Sweden, and Vanatu are also expected to attend the event.

Early registration for the conference has been extended to March 10, with March 24 set as the deadline for mail-in registrations. To register, click here
