Freedom Innovations introduces the the Kintrol Hydraulic Ankle/Foot system, engineered with a combination of Kinterra hydraulic ankle technology with aerospace-grade fiberglass.

K2 ambulators ambulators are prosthetic users who are typically defined as having the ability or potential for ambulation with the ability to traverse low-level environmental barriers such as curbs, stairs or uneven surfaces, explains the Irvine-based company in a media release.

The Kintrol’s articulating ankle features a progressive ankle stop, providing a 12-degree range of motion and enabling increased ankle movement for a more natural gait. It also features above-the-footshell independent DP/PF adjustability and the ability to adjust the stiffness category without exchanging the foot.

Additional features include U-shaped bumpers designed to naturally enhance balance and provide stability; a full length, unbolted fiberglass keel for optimal flexibility and comfort, resulting in a smooth rollover; active Dorsi-Assist Spring technology to help aid in toe clearance during swing phase; and increased coronal motion for additional balance and stability, according to the release.
