Seniors now have a hands-free way to control smart home devices and their environment with RoomMe, available from Israel-based Intellithings.

RoomMe is engineered to leverage the unique signature of a smartphone or smartwatch to automatically adjust settings such as lighting or temperature that match the preferences of whomever just entered a room. These personalized settings can be easily set up by a family member or caregiver to give seniors a hands-free way to activate their smart home without having to shout at a voice assistant.

Caregivers and family members can also use their preferred voice assistant to query the system and receive information on who’s home, which room they are in, and how long they’ve been there for added peace of mind, according to the company in a news release.
