Wheelchair-accessible van retailer MobilityWorks adds a new showroom location in Concord, NC, with the acquisition of Accessible Mobility Center.

The acquisition adds MobilityWorks’ existing presence in the state of North Carolina, where it currently has a van showroom and service center in Charlotte. With the acquisition, the company now encompasses 72 locations in 24 states.

“We are extremely pleased to have Accessible Mobility Center become a part of our family,” said Eric Mansfield, president of MobilityWorks, in a media release. “I anticipate this being a very smooth transition and we look forward to expanding our service in the Charlotte metro area.”

Dan Plondke, the former owner of Accessible Mobility Center, will be overseeing operations for the Concord location, the release notes. “We are very pleased with the acquisition. MobilityWorks is a leader in our industry. Becoming a part of the MobilityWorks family will provide enhanced resources and increased opportunities to allow us to continue to find the best solutions for our customers,” he says.

In addition to selling new and pre-owned wheelchair-accessible vans, MobilityWorks and Accessible Mobility Center will also provide rental vans and adaptive equipment such as hand controls, turning seats, and scooter lifts. MobilityWorks also manufactures and sells a variety of commercial vehicles to business clients throughout the United States.
