Encompass Health Corp announces its plans to build a freestanding, 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Greenville, SC.

The hospital, which is expected to open in mid-2021, will care for patients recovering from illnesses and injuries including strokes and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions. It will offer physical, occupational and speech therapies as well as 24-hour nursing care that aim to restore functional ability and quality of life.

The hospital will feature a large therapy gym, advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, cafeteria and dining room, pharmacy and courtyard.  

When completed, it will become part of Encompass Health’s national network of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and home health and hospice agencies. The Company’s South Carolina footprint includes inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in Anderson, Bluffton, Charleston, Columbia, Florence, Murrells Inlet and Rock Hill and home health and hospice locations in Aiken, Bluffton and Columbia.
