pointcareIn a recent news release, PointClickCare stated that it has partnered with TigerText to deliver secure text messaging capabilities through TigerText’s Software Development Kit (SDK) to its EHR platform for long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) providers.

PointClickCare, which markets an electronic health record (EHR) platform and associated solutions for the senior market, notes that it has entered into the exclusive partnership with TigerText to meet the growing demand for secure communications between healthcare providers and practitioners. According to the company, its partnership with TigerText will allow PointClickCare clients the ability to leverage secure messaging from both PointClickCare’s EHR platform on mobile devices while complying with growing industry requirements.

The release reports that using the integrated solution, providers can send and receive secure text messages directly within the EHR system, as well as on care providers’ mobile devices. The solution aims to streamline communication to allow for real-time collaboration among long-term, post-acute, and primary caregivers.

The release also notes that the companies are working to bring the integrated solution to the market in the first quarter of 2014.
