The Fall conference of the Central and Southern Ohio chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (CSOHIMSS) will be held on Friday, October 28.

The conference, titled “Holy MACRA! It’s Interoperate 2016!” will take place at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Center at the University of Cincinnati.

During the conference, breakout sessions will cover a wide range of topics, such as system quality, analytics, information privacy, and project management.

In addition, keynote sessions will focus on national and local public policy initiatives and on the hospital of the future. The keynote speakers will be Jeff Coughlin, the Senior Director of HIMSS Federal and State Affairs, and Jason Mortensen, director of Global Healthcare Solutions for Cisco.

At day’s end will be a panel discussion on MACRA and Payment Reform, featuring participants from the Ohio Health Information Partnership, the Health Services Advisory Group, Mercy Health, and Healthbridge.

“Every year we try to strike a balance between the Healthcare provider and system solution vendors when we develop the program. This year, though, our Taste of Healthcare conference in Cincinnati has seen an overwhelming response from our community Provider organizations to present on various topics of relevance for our Central & Southern Ohio HIMSS community,” says Ajay Sharma, program chair for the chapter, in a media release.

“We have Columbus, Dayton and host city Cincinnati represented for our event and have Keynotes from Cisco, talking about what’s in store for us in ‘the Hospital of the Future’; and HIMSS Regulatory Affairs, on the topic of MACRA. These are topics that are critical for our community to understand. We look forward to helping fill that need,” states Chapter President Jeff Haas in the release.
