The Center of Excellence (CoE) program, recently launched by medical robotics company Myomo Inc, recognizes top orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) practices in the United States that support its MyoPro line of powered orthoses.

As part of the program, O&P practices recognized as Myomo CoEs participate in joint marketing and receive training and patient support from Myomo clinical partners. CoEs also partner with physicians and therapists at leading US rehabilitation hospitals, who recommend and prescribe MyoPro as well as train new MyoPro users.

Seven O&P practices with a combined 31 locations across the United States have now met the training, quality, and patient support qualifications to be recognized as a Myomo CoE, per the release.

“We look forward to working with these organizations who have demonstrated the product knowledge, skills supporting patients and revenue potential to qualify as Myomo Centers of Excellence,” says Paul R. Gudonis, chairman and CEO of Myomo, in the release.

“We are already planning joint continuing education courses for clinicians, joint media outreach and other joint activities with several of them, while also recruiting additional O&P firms across the US to become Centers of Excellence.”

Myomo also notes in the release that its distribution partner Ottobock is marketing the MyoPro product line to Veterans Administration (VA) medical centers across the U.S. VA medical centers receive the same type of clinical training and support as commercial O&P practices in the CoE program.
