Writer Guidelines for Rehab Management
- Submit articles as Microsoft Word® documents attached to an e-mail.
- The purpose of articles is to inform readers, and not advertise particular services or products. Articles should be specific to educating physical medicine and rehabilitation practitioners and professionals, and be either clinical or business-oriented. Case studies, research, and other technical material should be included.
- Do not mention brand names. Use generic names for products, services, and procedures. For example, use "tissue" rather than "Kleenex®."
- Mention company names only when necessary. Provide the city and state or country for all companies and institutions.
- Use the American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style as your style guide.
- Articles should be formatted in plain 12-point type; no boldface, italic, underline, or other special formatting. If you include numbered or bulleted lists, do not use MS Word formatting for the lists.
- All text should be left-justified. Do not indent paragraphs with the tab key.
-
Any information taken from the scientific or business literature must be cited in a reference. Number references consecutively throughout the article in superscript type, but do not use MS Word footnote/endnote formatting. The list of references should be placed at the end of the article, and must be formatted in accordance with AMA style. Brief examples are given below, with detailed instructions further down this page.

- Photographs, charts, graphs, and tables should accompany articles as appropriate. Graphics should be sent as image files (TIF or JPG format, originally scanned at 300 dpi resolution). Polaroid photographs and negatives will not be accepted.
- Include a two-or three-sentence biography of yourself, including your first and last names and middle initial; academic degrees; current title; name, city, and state of company or practice where you are employed.
- Make certain that the article is the correct length as specified by the editor. Please call the editor to discuss any anticipated changes in the length.
- You will be sent (or have already been sent) a writer's agreement. This document MUST be signed and returned by the time the manuscript is submitted.
