Stephen Welty
Raintree Systems Inc, a health care practice management software developer located in Vista, Calif, offers patient registration, scheduling, billing/collections, electronic medical records, and management reporting tools in a single, integrated application. The company has seen its most significant growth among the PT/OT/ST and human services industries. Rehab Management recently caught up with Stephen Welty, director of sales and marketing, to talk about the growth of electronic medical records and what the future holds for the company.
Q. Your biggest growth segments are among the PT/OT/ST and human services markets. Why is that?
A. Success in these markets is primarily due to Raintree's ability to handle organizations' most complex A/R and patient management workflow scenarios. You will find Raintree in 1-20 clinic companies and in organizations with hundreds of locations.
Q. What industry trends are you keeping an eye on?
A. There are a few major trends that are emerging in the industry. Due to the Bush Administration's push for electronic medical records (EMR) to be adopted by health care providers, we are seeing increased interest in this ara.
The second movement in the industry is a demand for integration of EMR within practice management applications. Providers want to limit duplicate data entry and would like their clinical documentation to trigger billing processes within their practice management applications.
We are also encountering an increased demand by therapy providers to have prescriptions and authorizations tracked within management applications.
Q. What sets your company apart from the competition?
A. Here are the top six product features that set Raintree Therapy Manager apart from our competitor's products.
Q. What can we expect from Raintree Systems in the next 5 years?
A. Our company is continuing to grow in both the large and small market segments. We expect that our Software Subscription Distribution Model will spur our growth in the 1 to 10 clinic groups, allowing customers who do not have a large IT staff or budget to afford Raintree Therapy Manager.
