BraunAbility presented a customized camouflaged accessible van to Iraq veteran Lance Corporal Michael DeLancey on May 22. BraunAbility reports that the vehicle will transport DeLancey, who was paralyzed from the waist down by a sniper’s bullet, to his volunteer work with veteran organizations and events in his home state of Florida and nationwide.
Kevin McMahon, executive vice president of sales and marketing, emphasizes that as a Marine, DeLancey built his life upon honor, courage, and commitment, “These are values our founder Ralph Braun believed in—and they are values that the people of his company truly hold true,” McMahon says. The company and all company veterans, and BraunAbility employees also wore red, white, and blue in honor of DeLancey’s visit.
A company news release states that McMahon thanked DeLancey for his service and commitment, adding, “We celebrate the many ways you continue to serve our country.”
The presentation was reportedly held at the BraunAbility corporate headquarters in Winamac, Ind, and provided an opportunity for the company not only to honor Lance Corporal DeLancey, but also current employees who has served in the military as well.
