An interview with Eric Miller, vice president of sales and marketing at NeuroCom International Inc. NeuroCom® International Inc, Clackamas, Ore, provides assessments and rehabilitation solutions for balance and mobility disorders. Rehab Management (RM) recently had the opportunity to ask Eric Miller, vice president of sales and marketing, about the latest company news and product innovations. RM: NeuroCom specializes in balance and mobility advancements. What is the company's primary niche in the industry? Miller: NeuroCom International Inc is [a] leading provider of computerized systems for the objective assessment and treatment of balance disorders. NeuroCom can assist health care professionals in a wide range of settings to evaluate, plan, implement, and monitor balance centers. With a focus on comprehensive evidence-based patient management, NeuroCom offers objective tools that have: standardized protocols backed by extensive scientific and clinical evidence; flexibility to meet individual clinical needs; and proven value in clinical decision-making. RM: What are some of NeuroCom's most successful technologies? Miller: The NeuroCom Balance Manager® family of products is state-of-the-art technology for the assessment and treatment of imbalance and dizziness. The company is best known for systems that feature Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP), a unique assessment technique used to objectively quantify and differentiate among the wide variety of possible sensory, motor, and central adaptive impairments to balance control. CDP is complementary to clinical tests designed to localize and categorize pathological mechanisms of balance disorders. CDP can identify, isolate, and differentiate functional impairments. RM: Does NeuroCom plan to release new products this year? If so, can you tell us about them? Miller: NeuroCom is committed to continual development and enhancement of clinical systems, and announced the release of NeuroCom Balance Manager software Version 8.3 in August 2007. RM: What is it about NeuroCom's products that set the company apart from the competition? Miller: NeuroCom Balance Manager systems help health care professionals provide a solution for balance patients backed by more than 20 years of scientific research. NeuroCom's evidence-based approach objectively isolates and analyzes specific balance impairments. RM: What is NeuroCom's research and development team working on for the future? Miller: NeuroCom is continually in the process of enhancing the tools and software available for the assessment and treatment of imbalance and dizziness. As research and technology grow, so too does the company with new products and features on the horizon. RM: Where do you see your market evolving over the next year? Miller: As interest in balance problems grows, the market for specialized balance programs will continue to be strong.
