OutcomesExpert®
RehabExpert™

RehabExpert fully integrates all of the systems required by rehab therapists, including PPS support, outcomes, billing, and documentation. For contract rehabilitation companies, OutcomesExpert includes a central module that is used to manage critical data elements that must remain consistent for several facilities, automatically collect data from facilities overnight via modems, and generate scheduled reports and billing documents.

Both products support several billing arrangements for Medicare-A PPS, Medicare-B fee schedules, and managed care, while minute utilization reports provide information about patient treatments that are out of compliance with established RUG levels. These packages can be used with Windows 98, ME, NT, and 2000. KMS’ customer service encompasses on-site training and deployment and continuous upgrades with release notes. Prices range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on how many sites, and on whether data are managed at a central office or on facility computers.

All three software programs can be customized and are available for both single- and multi-users. RehabLite tracks client and case management and builds a single entry billing and payroll system with managed fee codes, two built-in invoices, a group of standard reports, and accounts receivable.

RehabNational features time sheets that can be entered for any number of employees with accompanying notes based on 32-bit rich text. Batch invoice generation creates invoices and accompanying reports from time sheets to appointments.

RehabEnterprise acts as a transition for the company wanting to add remote users and integrate email. All three software options run on Windows 95/98/NT, Netware 4.1x, and LAN and WAN environments.

Rehab Management Toolkit

A multi-location rehabilitation management program, the Rehab Management Toolkit features documentation, scheduling, outpatient and contract therapy billing, practice management reporting, electronic claims submission, and email utilities. Applicable in a variety of rehabilitation practice settings, the software also supports multiple disciplines, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology, and includes PPS applications.

Rehab Management Toolkit is compatible with Windows 2000 server, NT, NT Terminal Server, Windows 98, 95, Linux/Unix, WAN, and LAN, and can be used in a multi-location, multi-user or single-user setting. The software has the capability to integrate with other software titles, including Microsoft Office. Prices range from $5,000 to $12,500, depending on platform and usage.

MediLinks™ SQL

MediLinks contains all of the components needed to automate virtually all information functions of a respiratory care or rehabilitation medicine department, including clinical documentation, outcomes measurement, productivity monitoring, and managerial and statistical reporting. It also offers many efficiencies, such as bedside charting and automation of work lists, and allows for the tracking of supplies and capital equipment.

Able to run in a multi- or single-user environment, MediLinks is compatible with Microsoft SQL server versions 7.0 and 2000. It integrates with HIS and other types of systems via TCP/IP and HL7 standard interface. Prices begin at $100,000.

Practice Manager is written in an open architecture format that allows it to be flexible and customized, and is formulated to meet the needs of every individual installation.

Features include: PPS applications, patient scheduling, patient evaluations, data management and utilization, management and outcomes reports, billing, discharge planning, patient/physician insurer letters, word processing, documentation, reimbursement, and accounting.

Raintree Practice Manager can be used with Windows 98, NT version 4.0, and Windows 2000. The software package comes in both single- and multi-user formats. Prices vary, depending on the customer’s customization needs.

ReDoc PT™
ReDoc OT™
ReDoc SLP™

Designed by therapists for therapists, ReDoc software provides computerized clinical documentation to all of the rehabilitation professions. There are three versions: ReDoc PT, endorsed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), is for physical therapy; ReDoc OT is for occupational therapy; and ReDoc SLP is designed for speech-language pathology. The consolidated rehab documentation product (incorporating all three modules) is known as ReDoc Suite™ and will be available on May 1, 2001. The software can be used with Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 98, and is available on either a network or stand-alone basis.

ReDoc software integrates with other leading scheduling and billing software. Also, ReDoc software includes PPS and RUG tracking applications. This software is available on a subscription basis for $47.50 per therapist per month (less for groups over 10), or it can be purchased outright. A ReDoc software subscription includes technical support and upgrades at no additional cost.

Unison Cypress™

Unison Cypress software optimizes rehabilitation operations, planning, and compliance by capturing data at each service location, aggregating this data in real time, and distributing it immediately via the Cypress Web Portal throughout an organization, whether it provides in-house or contract rehabilitation. AppointmentsPRO (AP) is a full-capability, front-office management system. AP can be used with Windows9x, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0+, and is also available over the Internet via eScheduling, which is compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5+ and Netscape Navigator version 5+. Both packages come in single- and multi-user versions, as well as multi-office and multi-department hospital formats. Both integrate with most third-party billing, documentation, co-pay collection, and patient-reminder systems.

Both AP and eScheduling include the following features: patient scheduling and reminder letters; authorized visit tracking; time and resource management; outcomes reporting; marketing tools and referral tracking; as well as utilization, productivity, and management reporting capabilities.
