•Evolution PSV™ •Evolution Wave™ •ProForm NX™ •Zoid PSV™
VARILITE's air-foam flotation cushions, Evolution PSV, Evolution Wave, ProForm NX, and Zoid PSV, are available in pediatric through bariatric sizes ranging from 12 x 14 inch to 24 x 20 inch. The cushions also come in a variety of weights ranging from 2.5 pounds to 4 pounds.
VARILITE cushions are adjustable. Functional areas of the Evolution cushion are created by three firmnesses of foam: soft foam for the decubitus-sensitive area of the ITs; medium foam for the thigh trough; and firm foam for the perimeter and the medial thigh separator. Bonding Evolution foam to coated fabric makes the cushion hold air. A valve releases air to immerse the user in the foam, the foam conforms to the user, and the user's weight is distributed over the surface of the cushion.
The ProForm NX offers a number of off-the-shelf adjustment options, and is particularly of benefit for wheelchair users with challenging positioning and postural support requirements. Therapists recommend the ProForm NX for individuals with leg length discrepancies, amputations, and other pelvic obliquities. The ProForm NX is made up of ultra-lightweight components.
The Dual-Chambered Air-Foam Floatation Cushion is designed for pelvic obliquities and other asymmetrical conditions. This exclusive air-foam floatation cushion contains two self-inflating, independently adjustable chambers (patent pending). Adjustments are made using two-way air valves that release air to immerse the user in the foam. The foam contours to the user, and the user's weight is distributed over the surface of the cushion.
The closed-cell foam contoured base will not absorb fluid and is resistant to bacteria. The base can be cut with a knife or blade to accommodate drop-base seats, leg-length discrepancies, and "hot spots." Laterals and a deep ischial pan provide maximum immersion and pressure distribution. The molded thigh troughs improve lower-extremity positioning. The flex hinge lets the base flex when a modifiable wedge is placed underneath it.
The Modifiable Thigh Cushion is made of breathable, mesh-covered reticulated foam, which blocks the contour over the medial thigh separator and anterior laterals for added comfort and stability. The cushion is patterned in sections for easy modification to match changes made to the contoured base. It is nonabsorbent and washable.
A modifiable closed-cell foam wedge is standard with each ProForm NX. The modifiable wedge increases the weight-bearing load on the back of the thighs and decreases the load on the buttocks, without changing the seat-to-back angle. The 2-inch (5 cm) tapered wedge trims easily for custom fitting.
ProForm NX is available with a mesh or incontinence cover with breathable four-way-stretch material. Reticulated foam inside promotes air exchange and improves pressure distribution. The underside is a rugged nonslip material with hook and loop for added security.
VARILITE's cushions can be hand washed with soap and water and air dried. The cover is machine washable, but must be air dried. It is recommended that the cushion's air valve be left open overnight on a weekly basis.
Patch kits and valve kits are available free of charge. More complex repairs should be handled by VARILITE.
Customer service is available to all customers via telephone, fax, and e-mail from 7 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Standard Time. VARILITE employs an experienced clinical education team, seating specialists who perform dealer in-services and work directly with end users, therapists, and dealers with specific postural support challenges.
VARILITE products are warranted against manufacturer's defect for 2 years from the original date of purchase and are valid for the original purchaser of the product. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of components and does not include incidental or consequential damages.
Should a product be found to be defective under this warranty, VARILITE will repair or replace it at our option. Abuse (punctures, cuts, burns, and abrasions), misapplication, and normal wear are not included, nor is the cover included in this warranty. Consult a trained medical professional prior to modifying a product. This warranty gives consumers specific legal rights and they may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.
