Benchmark Announces Acquisitions, Additions
Benchmark Medical, Malvern, Pa, has announced an expansion of its orthotic and prosthetic (O & P) division to include comprehensive O & P services in the northeastern Ohio market. The new site, located in Macedonia, Ohio, will be directed by Bill Kondik, CPO. In addition, Benchmark has acquired Apex Rehabilitation Inc, Quincy, Ill, and Physical Therapy Services, Fairfax, Va. Benchmark now operates 184 points of service in 13 states. The company has also announced the appointment of Linda Mazzoli, ATC, PTA, to vice president of clinical services for the company.

HCS Signs Contracts
Health Care Software Inc (HCS), Farmingdale, NJ, has signed a contract with Kessler Rehabilitation, West Orange, NJ, to implement HCS' INTERACTANT clinical and financial software applications at Kessler's US rehabilitation facilities. In addition, HCS has signed a contract with the Masonic Homes of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, to implement INTERACTANT at their retirement communities throughout Pennsylvania.

Semmes Acquires Product Line
Semmes Weinstein Corp, Riverdale, NY, has acquired the product lines of Connecticut Bioinstruments, including the Weinstein Enhanced Sensory Tests, WEST™ nerve testers, and the CT-Bio monofilaments.

New System Aids Knee Reconstruction
Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, Western Pennsylvania Hospital, and CASurgical Inc, all based in Pittsburgh, recently demonstrated an augmented vision system incorporating the Nomad Personal Display System, created by Microvision, Bothell, Wash. Demonstrated along with a computer- integrated anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction system at the Scientific Exhibits at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meeting, it allows guidance information for surgeons, without distracting them from the surgical site.

Skil-Care Announces New Web Site
Skil-Care, Yonkers, NY, has introduced a new Web site, www.Skil-Care.com. This site features information on the company's full line of wheelchair accessories, such as cushions, mattresses, and incontinence products.

Astea Announces New Product

Astea International Inc, Horsham, Pa, and MultiMedical Systems, Fresno, Calif, announce the development of a joint software product, the AllianceEnterprise MedService solution. Integrating Astea's AllianceEnterprise CRM Suite with portable biomedical equipment testers and safety analyzers, the software is designed for equipment manufacturers, hospital asset managers, and third-party service providers.
