Industry Veteran Launches New Company
Greg Peek, cofounder of LaBac Systems, is returning to the rehabilitation field after 5 years away. Peek is launching Greg Peek's American Tilt & Recline, Castle Rock, Colo, a company that will offer products for adult manual positioning wheelchairs. The company is slated to have products available by this summer, and will also offer custom work.

Rehabilitation Center Renamed
The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago has renamed its Alan J. Brown Center for Augmentative Communication and Environmental Control. The new name is the Technology Center for Environment, Computer, and Communication. The Institute provides communication devices and electronic aids that control common household functions for people with physical disabilities.

ATRI Teams With Noted Physical Therapist
The Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute (ATRI), Chassell, Mich, has announced a partnership with David Ogden, PT, from Phoenix, that will provide Ogden's book and audiocassette package as a gift to 2002 members. Ogden is the author of The Unpredictable Command Technique (UCT). UCT uses familiar and unfamiliar movements in random patterns to improve somatic awareness, movement, balance, agility, and reaction time.

dj Orthopedics to Sponsor US Skiers
dj Orthopedics Inc, San Diego, has announced that it will renew its sponsorship contracts with US ski team members Jillian Vogtli and Mariano Ferrario. dj Orthopedics is a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of products and services for the orthopedic sports medicine market, and has sponsored Vogtli and Ferrario for the past 2 years.

Leisure-Lift Marks Passing of Founder
Leisure-Lift, Kansas City, Kan, lost one of its founders, Zella L. Burke, who died in mid January. Burke and her husband Wilbur, who died in 1992, founded Burke Inc/Leisure-Lift in 1965, as well as inventing the first successful pneumatic seat lift chair and toilet seat lift in the mid 1960s. The pair also invented the first seat lift power recliner in the late 1960s.

Medicaid and Medicare Webcasts Available
The National Managed Health Care Congress (NMHCC), Waltham, Mass, has announced the availability of webcasts, transcripts, and sessions from the 6th Annual Congress on Medicaid and Medicare, held January 7-9 in Washington, DC. The information is available on kaisernetwork.org, a service of the Kaiser Family Foundation. The site will also broadcast from NMHCC's 14th Annual National Managed Health Care Congress, April 15-18 in Baltimore.
