APTA Endorses Software

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Alexandria, Va, renewed its endorsement of point-of-care and data collection software products produced by the Rehab Documentation Company, Nashville, Tenn, including Redoc Suite, ReDoc PT™, PT HomeCare Doc, and PT Extended Care Doc. The endorsement entitles the company to use APTA’s name to publicize its products during the term of agreement. Designed by physical therapists, the software follows the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice, a resource developed by the APTA to help PTs analyze their patient/client management.

Pride Launches Quantum Rehab Division

Pride Mobility Products, Exeter, Pa, introduces its Quantum™ Rehab Division, composed of its power chair rehab department. The division will include the high-end aspects of select models of the Jazzy Power Chair Line, Quantum Power Chairs, and future power chair base and accessory developments. Clinicians and rehab technical specialists will provide product training, technical service, and educational support. The division will also handle customizing special orders and reimbursement issues.

Clemson University Installs Ferno Pools

Clemson University, Clemson, SC, installed three Ferno® pools as part of major renovations to its Jervey Athletic Center. Ferno, Wilmington, Ohio, a company that builds pools tailored to meet customer specifications, provided its Custom Therapy Pool, AquaCooler™ Chiller Pool, and Hot Pool. “The pools have added a great dimension to our sports medicine department with the benefits they provide and have also helped with recruitment,” says Danny Poole, Clemson University head trainer.

PTP Renegotiates Managed Care Contracts

Preferred Therapy Providers (PTP), Scottsdale, Ariz, a managed network of private practice physical and occupational therapy clinics, renegotiated or expanded contracts with five major preferred provider organizations (PPOs). The PPOs are Beech Street Corp, Community Care Network, Admar Corporation, Private Health Care Systems, and Cigna Healthcare California PPO.

AES Names Vice President

Adaptive Equipment Systems (AES), Baltimore, announced that Don Gordon will assume the newly created position of vice president of AES. His primary role will be director of sales and marketing for the company. Gordon has more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience, including 5 years spent in the seating and positioning market. He holds degrees in business management, marketing, and advertising.
