Furniture Riser
Standers, Logan, Utah, introduces its furniture riser, which is designed to make standing or sitting from a couch or bed easier. The wide, deep base of each riser fits all sizes of bed and couch feet. Risers are stackable, raising furniture 3, 4, or 5 inches. With one set of risers, a user can choose to raise one piece of furniture up to 5 inches, or two pieces of furniture at 3 and 4 inches. KAFO Brace
Townsend Design, Bakersfield, Calif, has added a knee, ankle, foot orthosis (KAFO) to its comprehensive range of custom, presized, and specialty knee braces. The Premier Series KAFO brace features rigid carbon graphite shells with titanium hinges. The brace is available in seven shell configurations with four knee joint and seven ankle joint options, enabling practitioners to select the optimum KAFO brace design for each patient. Multipurpose Chair
Rehab Seating Systems Inc, Brookline, Mass, offers the Ascender™ multipurpose chair, which features a slant seat designed to maximize good skeletal position and the user's ability to sit and stand. The seating system includes a seat deck control mechanism that allows for a flat or an elevated forward slope. In addition, the extended armrests provide support when rising from the chair, and the hardwood frame provides a stable seating platform and ample weight-bearing support. Smith+Nephew, Germantown, Wis, offers the Kinetec™ Centura™ anatomical shoulder CPM machine, which is designed to provide a postoperative passive range of motion to restore motion to joints to help prevent joint stiffness, soft-tissue contractures, and muscle atrophy. Patient setup is anatomical and quick due to a color-coded setup system, while the programmable hand control allows 12 different protocols to be preprogrammed. Exercise Ball Storage System
Duralife Inc, South Williamsport, Pa, offers its therapy and exercise ball storage systems. The mobile rack has three large shelves for storing virtually any size of therapy ball. It is 20 inches deep by 56 inches high by 64 inches wide and has four 3-inch twin wheel casters with brakes for easy maneuverability.
