Professional surfer, athlete, and motivational speaker Jesse Billauer has become the new "Patient Ambassador" for Astra Tech Healthcare's LoFric® catheters. Billauer, who has a spinal cord injury (SCI) that resulted in quadriplegia, will tech others with SCI how the use of urinary intermittent catheters can enable them to lead more active and comfortable lifestyles.

In 1999 Billauer founded Life Rolls On—a nonprofit organization that is now an important division of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation—which helps improve the quality of life for young people with SCI and uses action sports as a platform for inspiring infinite possibilities despite paralysis. Its signature program, They Will Surf Again, is an award-winning series of bicoastal events that empower paraplegics and quadriplegics to experience the freedom and mobility of surfing a wave with the assistance of adaptive equipment and dedicated volunteers.
