Canada-based manufacturing company Linamar has entered a strategic partnership with Israel-based SoftWheel Ltd to produce SoftWheel products in North America.

As part of the agreement, Linamar will set up a production line for SoftWheel products. The production line will produce current and future product designs with the aim of significantly increasing the SoftWheel production capacity to accelerate global market penetration, notes a media release from SoftWheel.

Among the latest SoftWheel products for wheelchairs is The Acrobat, which features in-wheel suspension, adaptive rigidity, and rapid shock-reset. It is available in magnesium (Acrobat M) and aluminum (Acrobat A).

”We are thrilled to be working with SoftWheel on their innovative in wheel suspension products,” says Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz, in the release. “Their products are making a difference for customers today in important markets such as wheelchair and city bike programs and has real potential for broader mobility applications in the future.”

“The tremendous demand for the company’s products in recent years has been so high that existing production lines in Israel cannot meet the demand. The cooperation we are announcing with Linamar enables us to increase our production capabilities by hundreds of times and reduce delivery time while allowing us to continue to develop our unique technology and constantly improve the quality of our products,” states Daniel Barel, CEO of SoftWheel.
