Power wheelchair users of all ages interested in participating in adapted power soccer are invited to attend an intro clinic, which will be held Friday, June 30, from 12 to 3 pm at the West Haverstraw Village Hall.

Power soccer is played indoors on a basketball court. Foot guards attached to wheelchairs are used to spin-kick a soccer ball up and down the court.

The United States Power Soccer Association will provide attendees with foot guards and bumpers to use throughout the game play.

The association works to provide all individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play soccer, and to make power soccer an internationally recognized sport that someday could be played in the Paralympics.

Registration for this free program is required. For more information, contact Adapted Sports Coordinator Matthew Castelluccio at (845) 786-4950 or [email protected].
