Nationwide skilled nursing provider Genesis HealthCare is changing the names of three of its locations in Albuquerque, NM.

The name changes are the following:

? • St John Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center changed to: Sandia Ridge Center;

? • St Theresa Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center changed to: Uptown Rehabilitation Center; and

? • St Catherine Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center changed to: Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Center

According to the Kennett Square, Pa-based provider, the names are being changed to better reflect the changes taking place within the centers as well as new branding for Genesis.

The three locations are undergoing $3 million in physical renovations and clinical investments. In addition, Bear Canyon Rehabilitation Center received an expansion of private rooms in its Short Stay Transitional Care Unit and Sandia Ridge Center received a new Mental Health and Recovery Unit. An additional seven Genesis locations in the Albuquerque market are undergoing $4 million in improvements as well, explains a media release from the company.

“We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our patients, families, and community,” states Dave Almquist, president of operations for Genesis’ West Division, in the release. “Patient outcomes, focused on vitality, are our number one priority, and the changes we are making throughout New Mexico support that mission.”

Genesis HealthCare operates approximately 500 skilled nursing centers and senior living residences in 34 states.
