Advocates for Individuals with Disabilities (AID), which opened its doors in January 2016, aims to serve the disabled community across the country by being a voice for them as well as to provide resources for individuals in need.

As part of its mission, Phoenix-based AID works to fight discrimination and remove barriers against, and to help advance equal rights and opportunities for, people with disabilities.

Through its network of attorneys, AID conducts investigations regarding compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Among them, according to its website, are handicap parking investigations and swimming pool access investigations. In addition, AID’s website provides educational materials to help readers understand the ADA’s scope.

Persons with disabilities are also invited to seek assistance from AID Foundation by completing a questionnaire.

Assistance funds are provided via a mix of corporate and private donations and awards, according to AID.
