Doreen M. Stiskal, PT, PhD, holds a bachelor of science in physical therapy from Sargent College of Boston University, a master of science in musculoskeletal physical therapy with a minor in education from Long Island University, and a PhD in health sciences with a specialization in movement science from Seton Hall University. She has also completed the APTA Educational Leadership Fellowship. Stiskal has been teaching courses that address kinesiology and gait for more than 30 years. Her research examines changes in gait relating that occur with aging, functional tasks, and interventions. Presently, she is the chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy, Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ. Also, Stiskal serves on the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
