Ft Lauderdale, Fla-headquartered Stimwave Technologies announces that its Freedom-8A Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) System for pain relief has received FDA clearance.

The eight-electrode wireless, micro-technology neuromodulation device is designed to help relieve chronic back and leg pain. It is implanted via an outpatient procedure through a standard needle, and there is no need for general anesthesia or a large surgical incision, explains a media release from Stimwave.

The device delivers small pulses of energy to eight electrodes placed near surrounding nerves, triggering a reaction that enables the brain to remap specific pain signals, thus providing pain relief, the release continues.
