Watertown, Mass-based Interactive Motion Technologies Inc announces it has appointed Jules M. Fried as its new CEO, and Hermano Igo Krebs, PhD, as chairman of its board of directors.

Fried (pictured), who joined the company as a consultant in May 2015, was previously a founder and member of the Board of Directors of First Commons Bank; a principal in Atlantic VIC; and a partner in the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery. He holds a JD degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School, and is a graduate of Princeton University, explains a media release from the company.

Krebs, who co-founded Interactive Motion Technologies and has served on its Board of Directors for more than 15 years, is a principal research scientist and lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology—Newman Laboratory for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation.

As a pioneer in the design, development, clinical use, and research of robots used to administer rehabilitation therapy to patients with neurological injury, Krebs holds many foundational patients for the use of robotic technology in rehabilitation. His work has also been published in several peer-reviewed scientific and clinical publications, the release continues.

In recognition for his work, Krebs recently received the IEEE-INABA Technical Award for Innovation Leading to Production.

Interactive Motion Technologies Inc, founded in 1997, provides interactive robotic therapy to help neurologically injured patients regain movement and functionality in their upper and lower limbs, per the release.
