Therapists or inventors who have an idea about how to create a product that can help older adults remain mobile and independent may have an opportunity to commercialize that idea through an 8-week worldwide search for product innovations, sponsored by Edison Nation Medical, Charlotte, NC.

Outreach for this search aims to uncover ideas for ideas about technologies that include the following: walkers, rollators, canes, wheelchairs, scooters, transfer devices, support and grab bars, lifts, standers, and devices for the kitchen and bath.

A media release from Edison Nation Medical states that invention ideas can be submitted through a secure, confidential portal at www.EdisonNationMedical.com/Mobility through May 28.

“Our Senior Mobility search enables those individuals closest to the challenges of senior mobility—namely, physicians, nurses, caregivers and the seniors themselves—to have a very real impact on care and quality of life going forward,” says Bobby Grajewski, president of Edison Nation Medical.

A media release from Edison Nation Medical notes that all ideas submitted to the search will be vetted through a confidential, proprietary 8-stage process led by Edison Nation Medical’s team of medical, technical, intellectual property, and market commercialization experts.

The end goal of this search reportedly is for Edison Nation Medical to successfully commercialize each qualified invention on behalf of the inventor via licensing to a larger global manufacturing partner or via company incubation. When successful, Edison Nation Medical shares licensing royalties and revenues with the inventor. The search is open to the public, and individual inventors or small businesses worldwide are invited to submit inventions.

More information about the search is available online.
