Bedford, Mass-based ConforMIS Inc, a medical technology company providing customized total knee replacement implants for patients, has unveiled a new generation of the company’s iTotal CR (cruciate-retaining) total knee replacement.  The new generation iTotal CR was designed to improve procedural efficiency by further reducing the number of intraoperative steps required during a knee replacement surgery.  The company is scheduled to demonstrate the latest generation iTotal CR at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) meeting in Las Vegas, March 25-27.

ConforMIS’ iTotal CR is described by the company as an individually sized and shaped, or customized, total knee replacement product designed and manufactured specifically to match each patient’s unique anatomy. According to a media release from ConforMIS, n clinical studies the iTotal CR customized implant has demonstrated high degrees of patient satisfaction, as well as excellent stability and natural kinematics.
