The Mayo Clinic has announced that it is making its video education medical grand rounds lectures and clinical presentations on recent developments in education, patient care, and research accessible to healthcare professionals in the new online medical professional video center. A Mayo Clinic news release notes that these lectures contain treatment options, new practice procedures, and research that covers a wide range of specialties.

According to the Mayo Clinic news release, healthcare professionals can watch videos describing clinical and research advances in disease and condition treatment, procedures, and surgeries. For example, a video available on fecal microbiota transplant provides step-by-step details of how the procedure is completed so providers and patients can see the process from beginning to end.

John T. Wald, MD, Mayo Clinic medical director for marketing and public affairs, states, “In addition to serving our patients here, we are committed to sharing information with the world of medicine. We are constantly developing, refining and improving…techniques in medicine.” Wald adds, “We have a moral responsibility to share that information with the wider medical community and are enabling that distribution through the Medical Professional Video Center.”

Healthcare professionals can view the programs at medprofvideos.mayoclinic.org. Videos are also available on the National Library of Medicine website.
