Foundation for Physical Therapy Gala Exceeds Fundraising Challenge

The Foundation for Physical Therapy (FPT) has announced that it raised just under $50,000 at its 35th Anniversary Gala in Charlotte, NC. According to an FPT news release, using mobile fundraising technology, more than 165 supporters made contributions to exceed the group’s fundraising challenge of $35,000 set in honor of the 35th anniversary. The annual gala was held during the NEXT Conference and Exposition of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

The initial challenge was met in less than half an hour, and FPT supporters went on to raise $44,750 by the end of the event. In addition, the silent auction raised $2,960 for a total of $47,710.

William G. Boissonnault, PT, DPT, DHSc, FAPTA, FAAOMPT, foundation board of trustees president, states, “We are delighted by the generosity of everyone that made a donation in honor of the Foundation’s 35th Anniversary. Reaching this milestone holds great significance to us as we look forward to advancing physical therapy for many more years to come.”

The Foundation for Physical Therapy was established in 1979 as a national, independent nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality and delivery of physical therapist services by providing support for scientifically-based and clinically relevant physical therapy research and doctoral scholarships and fellowships, as indicated on the FPT news release.
