A news release from Mission Essential states that Ride 2 Recovery hosts a variety Honor Rides nationwide each year. The Ohio-based ride is scheduled for May 24 and will start and end in the Northeast Columbus suburb of New Albany.
Peter Horvath, Mission Essential CEO, states that, “…In the year since we started working with Ride 2 Recovery, I’ve been overwhelmed by the commitment and positive effect this amazing group has on the lives of the brave men and women who have served our country…”
John Wordin, Ride 2 Recovery founder and president, echoes Horvath’s sentiment and adds, “With its commitment to our military and cycling, Mission Essential is an excellent partner for Ride 2 Recovery—helping us to expand our outreach to injured veterans. Our program introduces cycling to injured service men and women as a life-changing addition to the physical and mental rehabilitation.”
The release reports that two veterans founded Mission Essential in 2004 and about 30% of its corporate associate are veterans. The organization designates supporting veterans groups as a long-held staple of its charitable giving.
