Craig Hospital announces that Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D, Colo) is slated to meet with its NeuroRecovery Network participants and leaders of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation on March 18 to learn more about the NeuroRecovery Network (NRN) at the Englewood, Colo-based Hospital. Craig Hospital’s NRN opened in June 2013.

According to a news release from Craig, DeGette, a longtime advocate and champion for individuals living with disabilities, will have an opportunity to see firsthand the value and impact of the Reeve Foundation’s Paralysis Resource Center and NRN on the Colorado community.

The release notes that the NRN was created by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation as a cooperative group of rehabilitation centers to develop therapies that promote the health and functional recovery of individuals living with paralysis. During the NRN tour, DeGette is scheduled to meet with participants and researchers experiencing the benefits of locomotor training, as well as emerging therapy treatments.

Craig Hospital notes that in addition to touring the hospital, DeGette will also meet with recipients of the Reeve Foundation’s Quality of Life Grants Program and learn about a variety of nonprofit organizations in Colorado geared toward life-changing initiatives for individuals living with disabilities.

These organizations include National Sports Center for the Disabled, Ability Connection Colorado, and Physically Handicapped Actors & Musical Artist League.
