A news release from Mediware Information Systems Inc reports that its software product MediLinks has received Inpatient EHR Modular Certification for Meaningful Use under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. The certification signifies that MediLinks software is compliant with the criteria adopted by the United States Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The release notes that the “meaningful use” certification for MediLinks software applies to the inpatient acute care rehabilitation and acute care respiratory software products. It also signifies that federal government’s approval for the MediLinks software.
Thomas Mann, president, CEO, Mediware, calls the ONC certification for Meaningful Use Phase 2 “crucial” for inpatient rehabilitation and respiratory software products. Mann adds that the achievement of this certification, “further demonstrates our commitment to being the market leader for these products. Our customers rely on us to keep them in front of regulatory issues…”
According to the release, Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program is intended to certify that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria of either eligible provider or eligible hospital technology. Healthcare providers using certified EHR systems are then qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology.
