foundation-for-ptA recent news release from the Foundation for Physical Therapy announces that DJO Global Inc, Vista, Calif, provider of orthopedic devices designed for use in rehabilitation, pain management, and physical therapy, has renewed its membership in the Foundation’s Partners in Research program. DJO Global has reportedly entered the partnership as a Platinum Level Partner, donating total of $25,000 to the program.

The Foundation notes that the Partners in Research program is intended to recognize corporate donors and scholarships that support its mission to provide doctoral scholarships, fellowships, and research grants to emerging physical therapist researchers.

William G. Boissonnault, PT, DPT, DHSc, FAPTA, FAAOMPT, president, Foundation Board of Trustees, emphasizes the Foundation’s excitement regarding the partnership, noting that, “Continued support from companies like DJO Global is critical in allowing the Foundation to continue funding emerging scientists in the field of physical therapy.”

Dale Hammer, PT, MA, MHSA, senior vice president of global compliance and government relations, DJO Global, echoes Boissonnault’s sentiments, adding, “The Foundation’s activities help promote evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care, initiatives that are a high priority for DJO,” Hammer says.
