handConvaid has reportedly adopted LAUNCH preschool in Torrance, Calif, which specializes in early intervention to prepare children with learning disabilities and/or special needs for elementary school. The adoption is a component of the company’s commitment to the Torrance community and was initiated through Torrance’s Adopt-A-School partnership program, according to a recent news release.

The city’s Adopt-A-School program is designed as a partnership program between schools and the private sector. The program aims to stimulate business, industry, and government involvement in and support of the Torrance Unified School District. The release notes that the program also provides Convaid employees the opportunity to volunteer at LAUNCH pre-school.

The company’s employees will be assisting the preschool throughout the year by helping with special events, cleaning up around the school grounds, reading to kids, and will also be available to provide support in any other areas LAUNCH requires. Chris Braun, Convaid president, articulates the company’s excitement in adopting the LAUNCH preschool. “We are fortunate to be in a city that offers great programs like this one that allows us to be involved in the city’s schools and get our employees volunteering for such a great cause.”

Everyone at Convaid is excited to start working with the children and volunteering at the school,” Braun says. Convaid reports that a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 8 at LAUNCH preschool marked the official “adoption.”
