The Michigan Occupational Therapy Association (MiOTA) netted a key victory recently in their licensure efforts when the House passed Senate Bill 921, which provides for licensure of occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants.

The bill returned briefly to the Senate for a concurrence vote on the House amendments and will be sent to Gov Jennifer M. Granholm for approval.

MiOTA, with the support of the American Occupational Therapy Association, will work to secure the governor’s signature on the bill. Therapists are encouraged to contact the governor to voice support for the measure.
